I didn't see much of the ground, as it was covered in cloud. We landed at Boston Logan airport at 13:15. I found out that my 14:00 flight (1701) to Newark had been cancelled and I had been transferred onto the 15:00 flight (1517). I wondered what the reason was! [Was it so that I could arrive virtually at the same time as both Liz and John (who were flying in from Montreal), instead of John on his own.] Flight 1517 departed from Boston at 15:15 and arrived in Newark at 16:25. Seated on the right-hand side of the aircraft and heading in a northerly direction, I was able to see the Manhattan skyline with the setting sun shinning upon it.

At Newark airport, my backpack did not appear in Baggage Claim, so I decided to leave air side and pass through immigration controls. Once through, I was met by both Liz and John. We waited for the next flight to arrive, to see if my backpack was on it, but it wasn't! It is sad to say, but all I wanted was my Hard Rock Cafe T-shirts! John owned a very nice Ford vehicle. It couldn't becalled a car; more like a truck-cum-people carrier!

We eventually arrived at Liz's place in Allendale, and I was shown to the guest room. I have to say that I was not at all attracted to Liz; she was too old (old enough to be my mother!) - and more importantly, very overpowering! Yes, she was kind, but that is where any attraction ended! John took me out for dinner nearby, then it was time for bed.

Thursday, 28 - Oct - 1993

I had a good nigt's sleep. After breakfast, it was off to the bank - to see about a savings account for me! [I can't remember why, but it may have been something that Liz suggested!] Then it was off to the post office, and finally to the supermarket for food! I was given a familiarisation tour of the area, including a period at driving her car. Yuk, I don't like big U.S. cars!

The autumn colours were magnificent in this part of the world; golds and reds. Apparently, the autumn colours appear approximately three weeks after Toronto; it's further south! Dinner was pasta with stir-fried vegetables. Wendy (Tracy's sister) and her husband came over to meet me. I went to bed at 23:30 after sending a fax to The Drum in Bruxelles.

Friday, 29 - Oct - 1993

After another good night's sleep, it was suggested I went to the bank and post office on my own (errand running!) and to familiarise myself with the area. Liz provided councelling. A girl arrived to discuss her problems with Liz, while I stayed in my room. I left for the bank, etc. at about 12:50 and all errands were completed by 13:30. Liz had another visitor appointment for 15:00, so I disappeared and visited a few shops, then sat in the car and ate a doughnut! I returned to the apartment at 15:30; the visitor didn't turn up.

It was a beautiful warm autumn day; not cold, not hot. While I was out, Liz did my Karmic chart: quite powerful stuff, including "Beware of domineering wife"! At 16:00 (21:00 UK), we called Doris; she didn't see me returning to Europe, but instead travelling the world with a blonde lady! [Liz's hair was straw coloured.] Liz had another appointment at 17:30, so I was asked to be back for 18:45. I disappeared and drove to the bank, where I sat in the car and listened to the radio!

Dinner was chicken, potatoes and sweet corn. After dinner, we watched television: an episode of Are You Being Served (Mr. Grace Retires) and Ironside. Tomorrow, we'll watch the BBC's Keeping Up Appearances.

Saturday, 30 - Oct - 1993

I was up first (at 09:20) with a headache; I thought it was the heat inside the apartment! Liz's friend (who called her last night) picked up that I would be going back to the U.K. because of an illness!? As it was raining, it was suggested I drive to a shopping mall, on Route 17, but be back by 17:00. I eventually arrived at Paramus Park, where most children were dressed in various costumes, collection sweets from the shops. I left the mall at 16:20 to give myself plenty of time to get back. However, I left Route 17 too early and got lost! Asking for directions at a second fuel station, I was put back in the right direction. For dinner, we went to a Japanese restaurant. The bill came to USD 61 + 10 tip (£46.41) - thought to be expensive - but it was very nice. Back to the apartment and watched more television.

Sunday, 31 - Oct - 1993

Liz seems to think that I was feeling low. It was probably the thought of staying too long where I was. I couldn't imagine it! A business relationship would be OK, but that is where it stops. I called my ex-wife at 11:05 (16:05 local) to give her a new telephone number. My son wasn't due home from a trip to Israel until 02:00 tomorrow, while my daughter had had another school commendation; this time for music (99 notes out of 100). Dana wanted to come here for a holiday next year. She was also wanting to leave the Sea Cadets. I told her that I would be back in a couple of weeks.

We left at 11:30 for Jack and Rose Souza (Tel: [914] 941 0558) and arrived at 12:30; very nice people. We watched some American Football and Children of the Corn II! While we were there, Liz saw 10 people (with their problems!). We eventually left at 21:30, and when back at Allendale, watched the end of an episode of Colombo, followed by a full episode of Poirot (with David Suchet). I finally got to bed at midnight.

Monday, 01 - Nov - 1993

I was up early (again). After she had got up, Liz called John Maduras (Tel: [914] 238 8582) about what information is required for a Green Card/Work Permit. "I really need a face-to-face appointment, rather than discuss it over the phone". Liz said that I shall be in employment and out of here by the end of the month! That was good news! Liz was seeing someone called Lisa at 13:00 and suggested I took her out somewhere, as she had been depressed. Her phone numbers were [914] 933 5747 and/or [914] 933 1403. After she eventually arrived, we sat at the table and Lisa played with an ordinary pack of playing cards. The messages that she saw were: I have a surprise coming, a well-paid job, a house move, an illness and a car!!! We shall see! [No magic there!]

My son called me at 16:30 (21:30 local). He got back at 04:00, having had a great time. He visited the border with Lebanon and swam in the Dead Sea. He said, if possible, he would like to go to China in two years time. My daughter was not at school, because she was suffering from a head and stomach aches. I told them that I'll (provisionally) be back a week Thursday. While we were talking, I received a fax from Pete (in Bruxelles), in reply to the fax I sent to him just before my son called. The Drum was closed because of a flooded basement. He asked if Claire had written to Linda and Caroline. No, she hadn't, but will do. See you all soon!

An appointment had been made for Thursday, for me to see a lawyer about a Green Card. For lunch, we had another stir fry meal; which was good, then it was off to Ron Diana for a massage. My impression - it wasn't quite what I expected. Liz asked him to "move my energy". He placed his hands on my stomach, chest, head, legs and feet, and finally, my back. I wanted to laugh after he started. In the end, I felt light headed.

We had returned to the apartment by 20:20, when Liz saw another client. I went to my bedroon and played with my Game Boy. After the client had left, Liz placed three crystals on the floor (in the shape of a triange) and asked me to get in the middle. I couldn't concentrate properly, but I did feel that I was falling downwards.

I phoned four airlines and asked about flights from Newark to London Heathrow on 10-Nov-1993. British Airways was the cheapest at USD 508.00 (£332.03) one way, or USD 378.00 (£247.06) return. I booked the return (while not necessarily using the return) ticket! The tickets were available for collection for two days.

Tuesday, 02 - Nov - 1993

I took the 11:53 train into New York (USD 8.25 (£5.39) return), followed by a USD 1.00 (£0.65) ride on the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) railway, from Hoboken into Penn Street (33rd Street) station. I exited from (what was) the Abraham & Straus (A&S) Mall (is now the Manhattan Mall) and onto Broadway, next to ToysRUs.

From there, I walked over to the United Nations Building (at the junction of East 42nd Street and 1st Avenue). I then made my way to the Wellington Hotel (at the junction of West 55th Street and 7th Avenue). On my way, I entered an American Express office and exchanged my last traveller cheques (1 x GBP 100 and 1 x GBP 20) into USD 167 (at a surprisingly low rate of 1.397 to the £1.00 (from 1.53)!) and then bought six postcards for USD 1.00 (£0.71).

I wandered around, including visiting the Rockefellar Plaza, with its ice skating rink (Photo US-063 and Photo US-064), finally getting the 19:05 train from Hoboken, which arrived at Mahwah at 20:05. I was met at the station by Liz and we went and had lasagne and beer at an American bar. Back at her apartment, Ben Hur was on the television, as was an episode (at 23:00) of Are You Being Served, followed (at 23:30) by the ITN World News.

Wednesday, 03 - Nov - 1993

I wrote the six postcards to friends and family in the United Kingdom, Toronto, Bruxelles and Antwerpen, plus a fax to Peter in Bruxelles. Liz asked me to proofread her article for December's issue of her column. We went to the local post office to post my postcards and her article, returning at 16:30. I watched the television, while she recharged her batteries - slept! At 18:30, we went to an Italian restaurant in Suffern (approximately 7 miles north-west of Allendale), where I had Sea Food on Pasta and Liz had Lamb; all very good. At 20:15, we arrived back in Allendale and watched Death Becomes Her.

Thursday, 04 - Nov - 1993

I was up early in order to call Thatcham at 07:45 (12:45 local). I informed my ex-wife that I will return a week today. "Could I bring back some T-shirts"? Liz drove me to the railway station, so that I could get the 09:36 train to Hoboken and the 11:00 PATH train into Penn Street (33rd Street) station. I had an appointment with a lawyer at 515 Madison Avenue and East 53rd Street about imigration. He suggested I applied for an H1B Visa (valid for 3 years), which would have also allowed me to stay in the United States. After the meeting, I went looking for Sweat- and T-shirts and Game Boy games. I located some shirts, but they looked cheap and nasty; seconds?

I got the 16:45 train from Hoboken and arrived back at Mahwah at 17:30, totally knackered! Dinner (chicken) was being prepared while I relaxed. The headache that I had had, disappeared after dinner; probably due to dehydration, or I needed some substantial food.

Whatever happens on the work visa front, I had decided that I did not want to work and live in a city! I mentioned that I wanted to tap into my inner energy. Liz said "Apparently, I will; and also receive the Pink Ray from the sun behind the sun"! [Whatever that meant!]

That evening's television included Cool Hand Luke, the ITN World News and Are You Being Served, followed by bed.

Friday, 05 - Nov - 1993

It's Guy Fawkes Day (in the United Kingdom)! Today Liz and I went to Pennsylvania for her to perform an exorcism; apparently, she was a qualified priest. We were expected to leave Allendale at 10:30, but the two twins arrived for a weekend seminar. We left at 10:50, and arrived at the house at 12:45. Liz detected a heavy presence as soon as she stepped inside the lounge. She estimated that about 40 people were killed there in the 1950s. Liz had also invited a reporter friend to the house. She lit two candles and a number of incense sticks, and then the exorcism started. Six persons formed a circle and started chanting; I can't remember what. Liz went around the ceiling corners of each groundfloor room with a lighted white candle, to remove any remaining poltergeists. I followed with my camera; we then went upstairs and did the same. Afterwards, Liz said that the house would sell within the next month or two, for USD 260,000 (£186,113). The 'wife' was 'made spiritually aware' by seeing a white crystal with her third eye. It was all quite an experience for me.

Liz and I stopped on the way back for something to eat. While there, we gave Doris a call (at 15:30). We arrived back at Mahwah at about 18:00, after Liz received a speeding ticket, for doing 72 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. area! Ha! Ha!, or should that be Oops!

I accompanied the twinns to a semonar about their healing weekend - Advanced Energy Healing with Jan and Barbara Cotten. I'm glad I went, as I experienced the aura with divining rods. Another volunteer had stress in her neck relieved. [My written journal shows that I would like to do the training course next Spring (at his next session).

Saturday, 06 - Nov - 1993

After staying the night, the two twins (Janet and Jean) departed before 08:15. I drove to Mahwah railway station to collect Barbara. Back at Liz's house, Collette had arrived. As there was only four of us (Barbara, Collette, Liz and myself), it was decided to stay and practice meditation.

During the afternoon, we prepared for tomorrow; Collette released (some of) my negative energy. She, on the other hand, had problems with her two feet, but now, one is painless.

I can't remember what happened when Barbara laid on the floor, but when it was my turn, I don't know why, but I felt I wanted to cry, but I held it back (I think!). I also felt a tightness across my chest. Liz said afterwqards that I had a gold and white balloon over me. Apparently, the tightness was due to the release of negative energy.

We later went into Ridgewood to have some Indian food. Because of my dislike of Indian food, I actually chosed the Kids' Special - Chicken and Chips, costing USD 5.95 (£4.25), washed down with a Ginger Ale, but ended up paying USD 14 ((£10.00)! Back at Mahwah, I went straing to bed; knackered!

Sunday, 07 - Nov - 1993

Barabra (she stayed the night) and I had breakfast together, while Liz was busy on her computer. One of our conversation topics centred around "a Christ is coming" - the hairs on my arms stood up on end!

Once other guests had arrived, we all left for Wykoff (I cannot remember what for), where I met the musician Richard Schulman, and others. Led by Tracy, we did some musical 'warming-up chants'.

[There are no more notes for the day.]

Monday, 08 - Nov - 1993

I awoke at about 03:00; I wasn't wearing my watch and I didn't want to look. In my mind (or my third eye), I saw a diamond and a setting sun. I do not know what the significance of it was. I got to sleep at about 04:00.

The two girls (twins?) had arrived before I woke up. After breakfast (pancakes), we did a few "activities". For me, the main "event" happened after Liz left us to go to the bank. The three of us sat on the floor to meditate. The visions I had were as follows:

A short time later, Liz returned. She said that she started to 'bring us down' when she was in Dallington. When I was asked what happened, I told her of my experiences and then started crying and crying! Janet and Jan comforted me. I certainly had a feeling of being an honoured person! Even Evelyn (who is on my time line) phoned to ask if everything was OK! She sensed something had happened! The twins left at 15:30 after John and Tracey arrived.

John offered to take me to the airport on Wednesday. After discussing what had happened, the four of us had the giggles! John and Tracey left at about 17:30. I had a good hug from Tracey, who said that her and John's arms were raised when I was sitting inside the triangle; whatever that meant!

Liz and I went to her local Maison & Jardin Restaurant for some pizza! While we were eating, Evelyn called again. "Hello John", "Hello Joan (of Arc) referring to me!" She felt something when she was channelling my soul. Apparently, the Holly Mother's presence was there also.

Back at Liz's home, we watch some TV, after which, I hit the sack!

Tuesday, 09 - Nov - 1993

I had a good night's sleep, waking up at 08:15.

Voila! This is where my notes finished. I can only think that as I was due to depart tomorrow, apart from getting all my possessions packed, not a lot happened on this day.

Wednesday/Thursday, 10/11 - Nov - 1993

My journey around our planet finished with me flying back to the United Kingdom (Heathrow Airport), arriving on Thursday morning.

So, after almost 30 years, I have finally finished coding this electronic version of my Diary of a Global Normad! Goodnight!
