Another "do nothing" day. The weather didn't permit doing anything, as the clouds increased, and by 14:00, thunderstorms and heavy rain ensued. A few volunteers wanted to go to the beach at Ao Nang, but the weather changed all that!

To-day's main activity was another beach clean on Nopharat Thara Beach; see Photo TH-063. With the tide out, this is where we collected nearly a quarter of a tonne of beach rubbish in several plastic bags!

On our way back to the car park, carrying several plastic bags and a recovered heavy object from the sand, we passed a group of 6 or 7 Chinese-looking visitors walking towards where we had just come from. What we then observed annoyed us: these individuals simply dropped what rubbish they had, onto the clean beach! Argh!

With my gained confidence over the past three weeks, it was suggested that I might want to attempt to take the Advanced Open Water Diver Course to-day and tomorrow. I happily said "Yes".

With Wilko as my instructor, I successfully completed the Buoyancy Control (swimming through a vertical hoop on the sea floor - that was so much fun to accomplish!) and Navigation (using triangulation and a compass) activities.

Continuing the Advanced Open Water Diver Course from yesterday, I successfully completed the course, which included knots, and I passed!

Those of us that had come to the end of our time at the Utopia Residence, left for the airport; for our flights back home. I accompanied Alex, Ludivine and Grégorie to Bangkok, where we said our final Goodbyes. [I hate Goodbyes!]
