A "do nothing" day, apart from a few volunteers who ventured into Ao Nang. While there, they endured a Thai massage; the verdict: even though it was painful at times, it felt very relaxing.

At 17:00, we all took a short walk along the road to the Charm Cooking School, for a 2-hour lesson on how to prepare a Thai meal.

To-day's main activity was to perform a beach clean (my first), but I cannot remember the location.

Tuesday, 12-Jul-2016

To-day's activity was fish identification at two dive sites: Koh Talu and Koh Mae Urai (the two small islands, in the approximate centre of Photo TH-031); part of the local islands. For the first dive (with Alice and Grégorie), my confidence had returned! Yippee!

When it came to dive at the second site, Koh Mae Urai, the visibilty had deteriorated, but I decided to continue. My air consumption was higher than I thought it should have been, probably because, prior to this period in Thailand, I hadn't dived for several years. Thus, sooner than expected, my air supply was down to 50 Bar! At this point, I signalled to Dani (the Divemaster) of my situation and he passed me his auxiliary regulator.

Back on dry land, the afternoon was spent walking around Ao Nang market.

Not a lot to report or show to-day, apart from having had two successful dives with Ryan, although I did scrape my right wrist against some coral, plus a successful cleanup dive.

The following two videos show a quick tour around PDC1, and the end of a successful Dive Against Debris.

I woke up to learn (and read (on my Smart Phone)) the news about the lorry bomb attack in Nice, France.

To-day was a non-dive day. Instead, we were taken to a temple for stray dogs, with a brief stop at a Tesco Lotus Supermarket upon our return to Ao Nang; Photo TH-036 and Photo TH-037...

...after which, a few of use, at 15:00, went for a massage in Ao Nang. It was a bit painful in places, but it felt very worthwhile after. After a walk along the sea front (Photos TH-038 to TH-041), I accompanied three fellow volunteers (from France) in visiting the Krabi night market (Photos TH-042 to TH048).
