I have now visited Dubai (United Arab Emirates) twice. The first (unplanned) visit was in Apr-2025, due to the Emirates flight from Heathrow to Dubai leaving LHR late, so causing me to miss my connecting flight from Dubai to Phuket, Thailand. My second visit, in May-2025, was a planned stopover on my return from Phuket to Heathrow, at the end of the holiday. The following photos of 13-May-2025 (a rather poignant day, as it was my late father's birthday) are of the area within a reasonable walking distance of the Millenium Place Hotel.
My thoughts: I am pleased I have visited the city, but I don't have any plans to visit it in the future, as (from what I saw of it) it is a concrete jungle!
